Rayjacko Biography
Rayjacko (born Raylucas Abrams Chibuike Cyprian on December 28, 1996) is a multi-talented Nigerian US based singer, songwriter, dancer, rapper, and performer known for his captivating blend of Afrobeat, pop, and international sounds. Originally from Lagos, Nigeria, Rayjacko’s passion for music began at the age of 10, inspired heavily by his idol Michael Jackson. His stage name is a creative fusion of his own name "Ray" and Jackson’s nickname "Wacko Jacko," forming the unique persona “Rayjacko.”
He is currently signed to Revolutional Records and his self-owned label, Rays Records.
From humble beginnings in Lagos, Rayjacko is the first child of Honourable Prince Ifeanyi Agumba and Princess Chichi Adaeze Maureen Agumba. He attended The Noble International Children School and later graduated from The Noble College in 2013. He earned his bachelor’s in International Business Management from Stamford University in Bangkok, Thailand, and also holds a master’s degree in Information Technology. His early musical journey began in his church’s teen choir where he learned to play drums. In 2008, he joined the Jazzboiz Houze Music Band and released his first two singles as a solo artist, You Are Not Alone and Will You Be There.
Career and Rise to Fame
Rayjacko’s music career took a significant leap in 2014 when he released two standout pop tracks. After moving to Thailand, he collaborated briefly with Universal Music Malaysia before launching Rays Records. His debut official single We Going Up (2015) gained traction in Asia and West Africa. The follow-up single Whatchu Gonna Do further built his name. That same year, he toured Malaysia, Cambodia, and Laos and appeared in several Thai films. He won awards including Best Upcoming Artist in Thailand and Youngest African Artist in Thailand (2015).
In March 2016, he released the hit The Young Evolution, which took him on an African tour. The music video premiered in April 2016. Rayjacko has worked with artists such as Runtown, Cynthia Morgan, Samklef, Da Prinze Uifoh, and Del B.
Recent Projects and Achievements
Recent singles include Naija Commando, God When, Jogo, She Bad, and fan-favorite Bella Ciao. His single Mama earned praise for its emotional storytelling and visuals, and got him nominated for America’s Next Top Hitmaker in 2024. His fanbase, known as the Raynators, continues to grow across continents.
